Ocean City Marathon Information
Where should I park ??
Park and Ride (closest to the finish)
Francis Scott Key and Comfort Suites guests should walk to park and ride from their hotels.
Ocean City Factory Outlets (overflow)
Wherever you decide to park, GET THERE EARLY !!
Where does the race start ??
Half Marathon start at the Ocean City Inlet Parking Lot at 7am. Buses will take you from the park and ride to the inlet.
The 5k starts at the West Ocean City Park and Ride (8am)
Where does the race finish ??
Half Marathon at Assateague Island (buses will bring you back to the Factory Outlets for the Post Race Party, Awards Ceremony). Factory Outlets are right across the street from the Francis Scott Key and very close to the park and ride.
Will this Marathon be USATF Certified ??
Yes
Will Medals be given out to finishers ?
Yes , Medals will be given out to all finishers
What time do the races start?
Half Marathon start at 7 am sharp. ( Get There Early)
5K starts at 8 am
Will there be Gear (Baggage Check)
Yes, see the folks at packet pick up for your gear check bags, the gear check bags must be used for transporting your desired gear to the different finish areas. There will be different color bags for the half marathon and full marathon, make sure you use the right color bag. All gear must fit in the bags, no backpacks, duffels, etc. that do not fit in the bags will be accepted. Make sure you fill out your tag and follow the instructions given. There will be volunteers at the starting area to collect your bagged gear for transport. ( Get There Early) !
Will there be buses to help me get around ??
Yes, make sure you get where you need to be early. It is the responsibility of every runner to get to the starting line on time, to help you accomplish that we will have buses running from the park and ride to the inlet starting at appox. 5.45am and ending at appox. 6.45 am on race morning. All Half Marathoners will be shuttled back to the Factory Outlets for the Party..
Energy Gels ????
Yes during the second half of the marathon.
Carboom in various flavors at miles (appox.) 14 and 18….
Some water stops will have cookies, oranges, bananas etc. be on the lookout.
All water stops will have water !!
Most water stops will have water and Gatorade.
You cant miss the Cow Bell Chorus, watch your ears !!!!!!
Be on the lookout for wild ponies, sitka deer, and whitetail deer while on Assateague Island.
How does the Post Race Party Work ??
Runners along with family and friends are welcome at the post race party/ awards ceremony. Food and Beverages will be available there for runners, free of charge. Food is available for purchase at Factory Outlet Vendors for everyone else.

What are the important times to remember ??
5:45am First Bus leaves from Park and Ride lot to OC Inlet for race start
5:45am Ocean City Inlet opens for runners and spectators
5:45am Bag check opens in front of Police station by public restroom facilities
6:30am 5K registration opens park & ride
6:45am Last Bus leaves from Park and Ride lot to OC Inlet for race start
6:50am Marathon and Half Marathon runners line up in starting corral for Nat'l Anthem
7:00am Marathon and Half Marathon race starts. Please be on time!!
7:50am 5K runners line up in starting corral at Park and Ride for the start of the (5K)
8:00am 5K race starts
9:00am Post Race Party begins
9:30am 5K awards ceremony begins
10:15am Half Marathon race clock stops
10:20am Last bus from Half Marathon finish (Assateague Is.) leaves for post race party
10:30am Half Marathon awards ceremony begins
11:30am Marathon awards ceremony begins
1:30pm Marathon race clock stops
2:00pm Post Race Party closes

Will there be an expo ??
Packet pick will be at Ocean City Factory Outlets, there really is no expo as most runners define an expo. There will however be some items for giveaway and for sale at packet pick up. The Factory Outlets also have several sport related stores as well as a GNC for your shopping convenience. Discount Cards and Coupons will be given out at packet pick up good for outlet stores.
There will also be some vendors at the packet pick up tent on the Ocean City Factory Outlet parking lot

Will there be adequate rest room facilities at the start ??
Yes, there will be Port-a-pots and the Boardwalk Facilities will be open as well.
How many water Stops are there on the full marathon course ??
16 total. The first part of the course they are spaced approximately 2 miles apart. After mile19 , they are every mile.
Will this event be chip timed ??
Yes
How do I get my race bib and chip ??
Go to packet pick up. You will receive both your race bib and your chip at the same time. You will also get your t-shirt, goody bag, and all the info. you need at packet pick up.
